Crossing Cardinal

What started out as just a conversation over beers in the Fall became a wild endurance adventure in the Spring. What happens when something that used to be counter-culture makes it’s way into mainstream? It makes room for something new. Born through the idea that a race like the Speed Project was a cool concept but felt like too many brands had stepped in and the experience had become overly commercialized. So we decided to create our own endurance relay. Starting in Cincinnati at the Ohio River and ending in Cleveland at Lake Erie. Running across the Cardinal State along the Ohio to Erie Trail.

Improvisation: I like to add this foot note for full transparency. I cooked this route up over the Christmas holiday but hadn’t actually seen/visited all the hand off points or segments. All the planning was done over Google Maps and when it came time to run it, several sections were under construction or were washed out/under water from recent storms. There were several audibles called along the way to reroute on the fly to get from Point A to Point B of the route.
